Responsible business
ESG Policy
How rainwater.capital takes environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters into account in how we invest, advise and run our business.

Our approach
We believe well-run businesses create lasting value for their owners, people, communities and the environment. We treat ESG as part of good management and apply it in proportion to each company’s size and stage. Before investing, we check that a company is not involved in any excluded activity, and as owners we encourage good practice.
We are guided by the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and we hold our consulting work and our own business to the same standards.
What we do not invest in
Based on the harmonised exclusion list of the European Development Finance Institutions, we do not invest in companies involved in:
- forced or child labour;
- illegal activities, or products banned under international conventions;
- pornography or prostitution;
- weapons, tobacco, gambling or thermal coal, where these are a significant part of the business.
Responsibility
The management of rainwater.capital is responsible for this policy and reviews it regularly. Questions? Email info@rainwater.capital.
